The Uncertainty of Life

Well times are about to change. I feel like now more than ever that our lives are very uncertain. I was reading my daily inspirational Billy Graham book on the 4th an it was titled, "The Uncertainty of Life." Billy Graham helps us to understand the scripture from Psalms 90:12

"Teach us to number our days so that we may gain a heart of wisdom."

It was on this day also that we elected our new President. Well, I did not elect either. I declined to vote. My heart was not with either party. I feel we are living in uncertain times and no matter who would have won, We have but one King, one ruler of this world. He knows persisely when everything for the good and the bad is going to take place. I have placed my faith, trust and worries in his hands. But back to scripture....In an instant our lives can radically change..AMEN! A car accident, a death, a heart attack, anything..The Psalmist pointed out our basic dilemma:"The length of our days is seventy years-or eighty, if we have the strength, yet their span is but trouble and sorrow for they quickly pass, and we fly away." (Ps90:10)

No book is more realistic than the Bible. It gives us hope. It tells us Christ can change our lives and that he has prepared a perfect place for us in Heaven. Even our next breath is a Gift from God. So many of us take that for granted. I was one that did until I had a near death experience several years ago. I was turning blue and couldn't breath. I knew I didn't feel very good, but I did not know I had the walking pneumonia. If my spouse had not made me go to the hospital my life would have ended at that very moment. Often it takes a tragety to open our eyes and make us realize. So what are we waiting for. Please don't wait until it is to late. "Gain a heart of Wisdom."
